Overview:

Responsibilities :-
- Support IT operation in any related Oracle database domain
- Database Availability: Tasks involve the administration and configuration of databases; troubleshooting; and liaising with the application support team, network team and system support team to ensure uptime of the network; and problem-solving, occasionally escalating issues to the vendor for support, e.g. Oracle
- Service Delivery: The role incumbent is required to ensure that the capacity and performance of the database is available in order for users to use all applications at all times; they are also responsible for managing the performance and capacity of this database, e.g. make sure the database responds efficiently and performs as per user expectations. In addition, they will also be doing regular performance tuning and maintenance checks to ensure this performance.
- Compliance & Security: The role involves making sure the databases comply with all relevant security standards, thus ensuring proper controls/rights are in place for users and administrators. The incumbent will need to apply the right levels of relevant service patches and packs, in accordance with best-practice policies and standards.
- Coaching to the team member on Routine Operation support on Apply the latest single patches / patch sets / security patches to all the Oracle instances;
- Know the DBMS and system, can point out potential problems, and help the development team with special performance considerations.
- Ability to interpret and write complex Structure Query Language (SQL) queries.
