When you pay AWS directly, any VAT charged is foreign e-service VAT. You can’t claim it as input VAT because AWS doesn’t issue a Thai full tax invoice. With Aware Local Billing, you get a full tax invoice from a Thai VAT-registered company, so the 7% VAT can be claimed as input tax just like any other domestic purchase.
No. If you buy from AWS directly as a VAT-registered business, your accounting team usually has to self-assess VAT on the foreign service each month using form P.P.36. With Aware, you’re buying from a Thai company, so there’s no reverse charge and no P.P.36 to file. Your AWS costs are recorded like any other local supplier invoice.
Yes. Aware’s invoices are for a domestic service, so you deduct the standard 3% withholding tax, file it with your usual P.N.D.53 return, and send us the withholding tax certificate (50 Tawi). It’s the same process your accounting team already follows for other Thai service providers.
